Four of family charred to death at Dimapur

Dimapur, March 07 2011:
Four members of a family of Manipur origin have been charred to death in a fire at Dimapur, the commercial town of Nagaland, last night.
Family members and relatives here have suspected foul play behind the fire.
Md Feroj Khan alias Amu (35) of Khomidok Ipum Mapan under Imphal East district, his wife and two daughters were charred to death in last night's inferno.
According to the family members of Firoj here, he ran an electronic repairing/servicing centre at Nichi gate under Chumukedima police station of Dimapur and he and his family members have been living there for around 20 years.
Their house which was taken on rent was constructed with wood/bamboo and had CI sheets roofing.
Azad Khan, one of the elder brothers of Firoj who lives a little far off, received the news of the death of Firoj and his family members in the fire at around 12.45 am (the intervening night of March 6 and 7) .
Quoting the statements of Azad Khan, the family members said that by the time Azad Khan reached the site of the incident, the house had been reduced to cinders and none could be saved.
Rejanu Begum (40), wife of Firoj was a woman of that area.
Firoj and his youngest daughter Tamanna (9) were found charred to death at the threshold of the fire ravaged house while Rejanu and their eldest daughter Razia (14) on the beds.
The bodies were reportedly to have been brought from Dimapur by those who left from here today morning.
Suspecting some possible foul play, the family members said that though the fire reportedly spread to the neighbouring houses, the same have been able to put off and all the properties saved and none was hurt.
