Minister inspects road works

Inter-Village Roads (IVR) which are being taken up under PMGSY with a view to improve connectivity between Andro AC in Imphal East district, Phungyar in Ukhrul district and Kaimu Hills in Senapati district were inspected by MOBC and RD &PR Minister Md Allaudin Khan today.
The IVR which would be constructed between New Keithelmanbi in Andro AC and Kaimu Cheishang village in Saikul AC is about 17 Kms long.
The road is being constructed under the first phase of PMGSY to improve road connectivity between Andro AC and Saikul AC.
Likewise, the IVR which would be constructed between Tumukhong in Andro AC and Tangkhul Hundung in Phungyar AC is also about 17 Kms in length.
This road would enhance connectivity between Andro and Phungyar constituencies.
Minister Md Allaudin Khan and Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar visited these roads today and made a field assessment.
Capitalising on the Minister's visit, villagers of S Boujang village and Tangkhul Nongdam village appealed to the Minister and the MLA for shingling and black-topping of the roads.
In response, Md Allaudin Khan assured the villagers that necessary fund for shingling and black-topping of the roads would be earmarked in the budget once the foundation cutting works are completed.
To another proposal made by villagers, the MOBC Minister assured that due process would be initiated soon to build a bridge over Thoubal river between Moirangpurel and Kaimu Cheishang village.
The Minister and the MLA were accompanied by Executive Engineer of the State Rural Road Development Agency Dwijamani and some other sub-ordinate staff.
