The identity of the individual slain during an encounter with troops of 6th Jat Regiment at Saiton Hayaikon under Moirang police station in the night of August 29 has been established as a PREPAK cadre.
He is identified as Mayanglambam Bishwanath Anand alias Don (26) s/o Manglemjao of Kakching Khunou.
He left home about a year back.
The corpse has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.
Meanwhile, various social organisations have come out strongly against killing of Luchalu Kamei of Gaipuinam Kabui village, Khuman Lampak as well as that of Thokchom Hema Devi of Nilakuthi Makha Leikai in different incidents by their own near and dear ones.
In a statement, United NGOs Mission, Manipur (UNMM) said such wicked and vicious act should be condemned by all sections of the society, irrespective of men o full, hill or valley.
The potency of the criminals seems to be boosting up day by day and for this reason they are targeting these vulnerable group of the society while the Government remains deaf and dumb over these issues, UNMM secretary U Nobokishore said in a statement, adding that if we could not teach a lesson to the culprits, one day we ourselves might be the victims in the hands of these killers.In another statement, Centre for Social Development, Palace Compound lamented that tale of killing of young women in out society is coming a similar story.
Such killings is not only a violence against women but it is a kind of crime of the most nefarious kind.
So it is right time to join hands together by all the civil organisations in exterminating such impious crimes, the statement signed by field executive of the Centre Miranjan Loitongbam said.
All Manipur Women Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), All Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and Social Welfare Educational and Cultural Association have also strongly condemned the killing of Luchalu and such other crimes against women.
