Top leader of a faction of the PULF, MI Khan who has been shifted to Tihar Jail recently was brought back to Imphal yesterday following
court's order and released on bail today was re-arrested by the police.
The NSA detention order of the Md Islamuddin Khan alias Ibrahim Kaji
(45) son of Md Jameruddin of Keirao Mayai Leikai under Irilbung police station with his party name MI Khan was stayed by a ruling of the
Guwahati High Court, Imphal bench.
After apprehended by the security forces, IM Khan has been in the Shajiwa Jail, Imphal in connection with
his involvement in more than 14 cases registered in different police stations which was followed by NSA detention order issued by the state
home department.
In the later part, he was shifted to Tihar Jail where nine including him were transferred there by separate orders of the
state home department.
But, state home department revoked the detention order in compliance to court ruling in response to a petition filed
in court of the Imphal Bench of the Guwahati High Court.
He was brought back to Imphal yesterday and discharged him from jail as a court here
ordered to released him on bail yesterday at around 4 pm.
But he was re-arrested by the Irlibung police in connection with a case registered
in the police station in September 2007 (FIR 87 (9) 2007 under section 121/121-A/307/353/34 of IPC and 25 (1-C) Arms Act).
Today, he was
produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal and remanded to police custody for five days, source said.
