Election authorities in Kangpokpi sub-division of Senapati which polling will take place at 36 polling across three Assembly Constituencies, has completed preparations for the smooth conduction of the ensuing Lok Sabha election scheduled on April 16.The sub-division lies within the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
Polling in this sub-division will go on at altogether 141 polling stations and will conduct under the overall supervision of the ADC, Kangpokpi, a DIPR released said today.
Out of 36 polling stations within the 50-Kangpokpi A/C, the authority have placed two under the category of the hyper sensitive polling stations while the rest 34 under sensitive category.
46-Saikhul A/C has 50 polling stations and out of them 15 has been categorized as hypersensitive polling stations while the remaining 15 as sensitive polling stations.
The requirement of the vehicles for the particular Assembly segment has been chalked out at 32 including 15 buses and 17 trucks.
Under the 46-Saikhul Assembly segment, there are altogether 50 polling stations which 15 of them has been placed under the hyper sensitive category while the rest 35 under sensitive.
A total of 52 vehicles including 27 buses, 23 trucks and two jeeps will be utilized for the transportation of the polling materials, polling personnel and security personnel.
Most of the polling stations under this constituency are located at distances ranging from 95 to 115 kilometer away of the Kangpokpi sub-divisional headquarters.
In 45-Saikhul A/C, out of 55 polling stations and 18 of them has been classified as hypersensitive while the rest 37 has been identified as sensitive polling stations.
Around 100 vehicles including 40 buses, 11 trucks, eight jeeps are required for the movement of the polling personnel and security personnel and transportation of polling materials in this constituency.
Under the supervision of the ADC of the sub-division, K Thansang who has appointed as Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), training on EVM operation has been imparted to around 600 polling personnel in five phases.
Polling personnel with the polling materials will start leaving for their assigned polling stations two days ahead of the polling day, from April 14 .
Till date there occurred no untoward incidents related with the election, informed the ADC to the officials of the state DIPR.
