Imphal, November 24: Asserting that there have been repeated flaws in the voters� list of Moreh, the Meitei Council Moreh has warned that it will launch agitation of all sorts if the flaws are not rectified at the earliest.

While many genuine residents of Moreh town have been excluded from voters� list, many people who are not residents in any ward of Moreh town have been included in the voters� list of Moreh, alleged MCM.

Briefing media persons at its office today, MCM general secretary N Phulindro said that more than 300 genuine residents of Moreh who have been living in the border town for decades have been deleted.

Taking serious note of such gross irregularities, Phulindro appealed to the authority concerned to revise the voters� list so that the excluded genuine voters are included in the list and the non-residents of Moreh are deleted.

In case the Government fails to pay heed to the appeal, MCM will take up various forms of agitation, Phulindro cautioned.

MCM organisation secretary M Thoiba decried that despite being a resident of Moreh ward no 4 for the last many years his name has been deleted from voters� list while 170 persons who are not residents of the same ward at any point of time have been included in the list.

Of the 170 names belonging to a particular community, only one house exist in Moreh ward no 4, he explained while urging upon the Moreh ADC to make arrangements for rectification of the blunder at the earliest.

Asserting that there have been serious flaws in the voters� lists of other wards of the border town, MCM advisor E Kuber accused the ADC Moreh of deliberately denying genuine residents of the town to add their names to voters� list after their names have been deleted in a dubious manner by putting up several conditions.

He also asked the ADC Moreh if he has any hidden motive behind allegedly victimising a single community.

He further questioned the rationale behind inserting names belonging to other communities against home addresses belonging to Meiteis in the voters� list.
