The High Court bar association, Manipur today said members of the High Court Association have been discharging heart legal professional duties representing the interest of their clients irrespective of caste, creed, group, government, or non-government to the best of their abilities, for the last so many years.
Strict adherence to the rule of law and the service to the societies through the legal profession or the motto early observe by the members of this profession.
Members of this Association have been disturbed by the recent trend viz, attack, physical assault to the members of this Association, throwing, of bombs at the house of advocates etc.
The above threats and interference in this legal profession have led the members of the High Court Bar Association and other Bar Association to protest against such interference by organizing sit-in protest in public places.
The problem caused by such threats and interference to legal profession have been adequately highlighted in the earlier occasions.
However complaints from the member of this Association have been pouring in time and again that, their profession have been interfered with and they have been threatened by the anonymous telephone callers and unidentified organizations.
Such complaints have been discussed at length by the Executive body of the High Court Bar Association and thereafter a resolution was adopted on the 23rd January 2004 to make an appeal to all concerned to desist themselves from interfering with the due discharge of the professional duties and from holding out any threat to the members of the association in connection with any court pending or otherwise.
