Retired District and Sessions Judge, Ch Upendra who probed the circumstances leading to the suicide of school girl N Sanjita Devi, after she was allegedly roughly frisked by personnel of 12 Grenadiers submitted his report to the State Government today.
The 82 paged report, including annexure and content was submitted before the office of the Additional Chief Secretary this afternoon, disclosed a highly placed source.
15 year old Nandeibam Sanjita Devi of Jiribam ended her life by consuming pesticide a few hours after she was allegedly roughly frisked by personnel of 12 Grenadiers inside a farmhouse at Jiribam on October 4, 2003.The SP of Imphal East had on February 13 submitted the examination report of the stomach and liver of the deceased girl to the Commission.
The report established that the girl had consumed poison.
In the meantime, the authority of 12 Grenadiers also submitted some incomplete documents pertaining to the daily movements of its troops, strength among others before the Commission.
Beginning from November 12 last year, the Commission examined as many as 21 witnesses belonging to different parties including the defence (army), victim's family, JAC and the Commission.
The final arguments of the inquiry concluded on January 23 this year, after which the Commission began preparing its report.
