Imphal, November 29 2010:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) has expressed resentment over State Government's stoic silence on the ongoing cease work stir of teachers spearheaded by Committee of Teachers' Association (COTA).
In a press release issued by its Publicity Secretary L Sonamani, the regional political party asked whether the Congress-led SPF Government is planning to spoil the academic career of thousands of students of the State.
MPP added that as Education Minister L Jayantakumar and the State Government are not taking up any step to end the stir, it must be presumed that the Government is not interested in saving the academic career of the students.
On the otherhand, MPP added, the role of L Jayantakumar in the viva voce result of Primary/Hindi teachers is also suspicious as no action is seen so far in this regard even though an enquiry committee is probing the controversial issue.
