The State Vigilance Department has unearthed six cases of illegal appointment in the Bishnupur Municipal Council (BMC) while the State's Government's blanket ban on appointments was in force.
The Vigilance Department has also exposed 9 other individuals who got appointment in Education (Schools) Department with the help of forged documents.
A reliable source informed The Sangai Express that the then Executive Officer M Sanajaoba appointed three sweepers and one driver in BMC in 1999.Then former SDO of Nambol L Ibobi who also served as Executive Officer for a short period appointed another computer operator.
Another sweeper was also appointed in BMC by its chairperson P Tomba.
All these appointments were made when the ban imposed by the State Government on appointments was still in force.
The State Government would be recommended to terminate the service of these employees and to initiate Departmental proceedings against the erring officials.
On the other hand, the Vigilance Department, after an investigation, has also come across four assistant teachers, two Science graduate teachers, two assistant graduate teachers and one chowkidar who got themselves appointed in Education (S) Department with the help of forged documents.
Following detection of numerous cases of sly appointment in the Education (S) Dept , the Vigilance Dept was asked probe the matter.
