Imphal, April 01 2009:
CPI candidate in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr M Nara has stated that it is time for the people to uproot the political traders from the society.
Addressing election rallies at Heingang, Luwangshangbam, Khabam Lamkhai, Kshetrigao and Kshetri Leikai in Imphal East today, Dr Nara said that it is these political traders that brought Manipuri society to such a critical stage today.
Describing politics as a respectable profession that would ensure good governance to the people, Dr Nara said the brunt of the debility effect of misusing politics by a handful of pseudo political leaders in Manipur is being bore by the people today.
These political traders, who do not see and understand the tears and suffering of the people should be shown the door, he said, while exhorting the gathering to decide for themselves in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Pledging to work not only for the upliftment of the marginalised section of the society but also to shed the light of development in the interior parts of the State, Dr Nara appealed to the people to vote for him.
Participating in the election campaign held at Heingang Mayai Leikai, president of United People's Organisation (UPO), Heingang, announced that the organisation would support Dr Nara and pleaded other like-minded organisations to follow suit.
