Imphal, November 13 2008:
THE UNITED body of Yang Raphei Conference, Action Committee on Central Road Fund and Huishu Youth Club, demands the state government to bring an amicable solution over the incompletion of Nunghar-Khamasom-Poi-Chingai road.
YRC in its statement stated that amounts of constructing the road which is 75 km long had been sanctioned on July 24 2005 under Central Road Fund.
An amount of Rs 3.47 crore for completion of 16 km had also been released for the first phase out of which 1,75 crore was withdrawn so far without and no satisfactory work was done.
The state works minister alongwith some high officials of his department assured to complete the construction work by February 2008 .
Three engineers have also been suspended for their corruptive motive.
But the construction work is still far from completion and has not been resuming since long.
YRC demanding to complete the construction work as soon as possible decided to launch a series of agitation from November 17 towards.
For the first phase, the Public Works department wil be closed down indefinitely from November 17 .
If the government do not respond positively the united body threatened the state government to agitate extensively, the statement added.
