Two writers from Manipur who tour Tripura with traveling grant from the Shahitya Academy, Kolkata with an objective of introducing each other among the writers of the region and built up good relationship and organize every year, return back after concluding the tour programme today, said a statement of the Patriotic Writer's Forum.
During their seven day tour to Tripura, the two writers of the state, Rakesh Naorem and Lenin Khumancha, met with the Meeteis settling in separate places and study on the way of living and their culture, elocutions.
They also had interaction with elderly people and writers there and held interaction on the contribution made by them in the field of literature.
The tour of the writers briefed the Meetei there on the account of the prevailing situation of the state.
With regard to the living condition of the Meeteis in Tripura, Rakesh told the forum that the people there are preserving the traditional cultures with their best effort.
They have also expressed their feeling of visiting Manipur, their origin place.
The people there also in order to keep alive the language and scripts of the Meetei are publishing a weekly newspaper called "Marup".
Apart from this, they are also publishing various books, he related to the forum.
