Security forces have arrested one activist each of the PREPAK, KYKL and UTLA organisations from different places in the past 48 hours.
A PREPAK cadre identified as Mayengbam Tomba (32) s/o (L) M Anou of Wabagai Yangbi Maning has been arrested by troops of 21 AR during a search operation launched in Wabagai area in the wee hours today, said an AR PRO release.
According to a statement issued by SSP (IW) L Kailun, police commandos of Imphal west district arrested a KYKL activist from Thangal Bazar near Jalan crossing at around 3.30 pm yesterday.
Identifying the captive as Tomanbam Johnson alias mubi (24) s/o (L) Biren Singh of Maharabi Maning Leikai, the SSP release conveyed of Johnson's disclosure that he had joined the KYKL outfit in November, 2008 and worked under the command of one Kongbrailatpam Giridhari.
One mobile handset with sim card had been seized from Johnson's possession, the release added.
The UTLA activist, which a PIB (DW) statement described as a key appointment of the armed group, was apprehended by troops of Tamenglong-based 11 AR from Tamenglong town.
It identified the captive as one Tonglen Singson of Phoitel village of the district's Tousem subdivision.
The individual, handed over to the police, is suspected to be the Defence Advisor of the banned outfit UTLA, the PIB (DW) statement added.
