Police, in a follow up to the fraud investment case of Jainex International Trade (JIT), arrested 12 persons including a woman allegedly involved in luring investors.
Police are investigating into the case after registering a FIR related with 'cyber crime'.
Mention may be made that on October 15, Singjamei police picked up Huidrom Nandakumar (55) of Khagempalli Panthak, an Executive Engineer in Manipur Development Society when investors stormed his house when the website the investors ware to access for return of the money was found inaccessible.
Police, investigating into the matter after registering a case, arrested 12 more persons including a woman in connection with the case and produced them before the duty magistrate today.
Police charged them of luring investors and violation of rules under the Reserve Bank of India.
They have been remanded into police custody till October 27, a police source said.
They 12 persons were rounded up for verification after police investigation.
During the investigation police have been able to collect data related with the money invested by the investor and other information related with the website.
During the investigation, police found out that the fraud company under Nandakumar with his coterie of 12 persons had collected around Rs 50 crore by luring over 3000 investors.
Interrogation to unearth the modus operandi of the business has started, police said.
However, they maintained that so far no documents related with the investment company have been collected.
