Imphal, November 19 2010:
Five super-time scale IAS officers of the state government have been appointed as Electoral Observers to observe the ongoing electoral roll revision process in the whole of the state.
The officers who appointed by an order of the Election Commission of India are principal secretary (commerce and industries) O Nabakishore, principal secretary (works) Ram Muivah, commissioner (transport and IFCD) H Imocha, commissioner (higher education and horticulture) Moses Chalai and commissioner (tourism) KK Chhetry.
Nabakishore will be the observer in Senapati and Tamenglong districts, Ram Muivah for Thoubal and Imphal east while that of Churachandpur by H Imocha, Bishnupur and Imphal west by Moses Chalai and Ukhrul and Chandel by KK Chhetry.
They will observe the summary revision of electoral roll currently in progress with reference to January 1, 2010 as qualifying date and also help the district electoral officers in taking timely corrective measures and to report the progress of the process to the Commission (ECI).
