CM assures aid to rape victim

Imphal, February 15 2012:
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh reportedly assured a delegation of Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh that necessary steps would be taken up to book the culprit involved in brutal molestation of a Nepali girl who was left to die near Mount Everest College, Senapati recently.
According to a statement issued by Parisangh, the Chief Minister also assured to extend necessary financial help for meeting the medical expenses of the victim when the delegation called on the latter at around 3 pm today.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in connection with the demand for creation of Gorkhaland comprising Darjeeling district inclusive of the areas in the foothills of Tarai and Dooars of Jalpaiguri district within the state of West Bengal and pressed for adopting a resolution in the State Assembly in this regard and recommend the same to the Union government.
