Th Pariksit of Sainik School is the winner of this year's state level science seminar best performer award organised by the department of education (school).
He will represent the state in the national science seminar in Bangalore to be slated this October.
A total of 20 students from different school across the state participated in the state level science seminar held today at GM Hall, Imphal.
While the best performer award went to Th Pariksit of Sainik School, Imphal, merit prizes were also awarded to M Sushma and Prakash of Keishamthong Model High School, L Angela of Ruda Academy, Thoubal and Sarda Sharma of St Mary School, Canchipur.
The best performer award comprised a cash award of Rs 7000, a certificate while the merit prizes were consisted of a cash prize of Rs 2000 and a certificate.
Th Pariksit who won the best performer award will represent the state in the national science seminar of students to be slated in Bangalore October this year.
State Education minister, L Jayentakumar who graced the concluding function of the state level seminar as chief guest said that with the enactment of Right Education Act in the state too, government has also steps up for advancing education in the state.
He also announced that for the first time, Tele Education will be launched in the state on August 30.The launching function will be held at the TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal.
The project is taken up by the education department in collaboration with NIC.
This would be a one step toward the advancement of education in the state, the minister added.
