ZSU, AMRPSWA provide relief to Noney fire victims

Imphal, April 22 2013:
Zeliangrong Students' Union (ZSU) and All Manipur Recognised Private School Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) today provided relief materials to the victims of fire which broke out at Noney Bazaar on April 9 .
The relief materials which included exercise books, bags and writing materials for students were handed over during a simple function at the office of Noney Bazaar Board today.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaichingpu, Convenor of Zeliangrong Students' Union, Imphal Valley, stated that as soon as they heard about the fire incident which destroyed a number of houses and shops in Noney Bazar, they decided to help the fire victims specially the students community with the required books and other materials needed for them to study.

He also expressed his desire which is also the wish of both the ZSU and AMRPSWA to do something for the underdeveloped education system in the hill districts of the State. The function was also attended by Namoijam Tomba, member of Advisory Board of "Pandam", a monthly journal in Meetei Mayek and Shivdutta Luwang, Editor of Hueiyen Lanpao (Meetei Mayek edition) as presidium members.
An amount of Rs 50,000 was also given to the relief committee by Joy Khuman on behalf of Transporters and Drivers' Council.
