RPF claims successful attack on AR, PRO denies

Imphal, September 18 2013:
A special team of General Headquarters PLA, the armed wing of the proscribed Revolutionary People's front (RPF), reportedly launched an attack successfully at a camp of 24 Assam Rifles located near Saibol village under Chandel district at around 8 am on September 17 .
According to a statement issued by Bangkim, Chief of Department of Publicity, RPF, casualties were caused on the side of the Assam Rifles in the attack.
However, PRO IGAR (S) has denied any such incident or casualties.
Bangkim further informed that after the successful attack on the AR camp, the PLA cadres were returning when came across a team of AR personnel and it led to exchange of heavy firing and inflicted casualties on the AR side.
There was no casualty on any of the PLA cadres.
The attack was part of the strategies to drive away Indian security forces from the soil of Manipur and it would continue till Manipur gets its lost sovereignty, Bangkim added.
