Instead of blaming one another for lacking behind government schools, a concerted effort with mission to bring quality education is a must, expressed additional director, education (s) valley, Hareshwor Goshwami today.
The additional director speaking to the media persons during his surprise visit to some government schools in Imphal today said that he has been inspecting the schools to improve the conditions of the government schools which was lacking behind compare to private schools and mend up the gap to bring balance in quality at least to some extend.
His surprise visit was related with the efforts of the education minister, education commissioner and education director to improve the quality of education in the government schools, Hareshwor informed the teachers in the schools.
In the prevailing situation in the state, schools are facing shortage in many fields and difficulties.
Despite all this, teachers and authorities of the schools need to discuss on the matter for bringing quality education.
He also informed that for improving the quality of the government schools, education department is planning to consultative meetings like seminar, workshops etc.
which would also participated by the teachers and students, he added.
He further said that government is trying to wiped out the problems facing by the teachers regarding availing benefits for their service like to make easy in withdrawing GPF, pension, enhancing promotion facilities and other matters related with preparation of seniority list etc.
The additional director visited Lalambung Primary School, Lalambung Makhong, Lalambung High School, Veirondan Primary High School, Thangal Bazar, Kwakeithel Girls School, Kwakeithel, Megha High School, Malom, Gulap Higher Secondary School, Mekola and interacted with students and teachers with regard to the shortages in the respective schools.
Teachers and students urged the director to maintained school buildings, toilets, water, electricity, bench and desk, black boards, library etc.
in their respective schools.
Students also urged the additional director not to transfer teachers frequently.
After hearing complains of the students and teacher, Hareshwor assured of looking into the matters and do the needful at the earliest.
He also distributed pencils and picture charts to the students during the visit.
