The court has fixed the hearing at 2 pm of September 7 to the civil writ petition filed by mother in-law of deceased Th Rabina, Thokchom ongbi Memi against the state chief secretary, DGP, SP, Imphal west and OC, City Police Station stating that police failed to register case on the dead of Rabina despite her husband's complaint.
In a hearing to the writ petition today, Justice Ashok Potshangbam while announcing the full hearing date asked all parties in the case to submit necessary affidavits on the day.
Advocate Khaidem Mani, the counsel of the petitioner today informed the court that the FIR case which police said registered with regard to the dead of Rabina in the July 23 Khwairamband shooting incident was the case which was registered after the police commandos lodged the complaint on the incident on the day of occurrence of the incident.
In the hearing, government counsel observed that police cannot registered two cases in the same incident which Mani objected saying that even though the incident is same, if there is different version, police should taken up separate cases.
