Chandel ADC chairman clarifies on BJP allegation

Chandel, May 29 2014: Reacting to the statement of BJP Chandel reiterating its stand to pursue the case over alleged encashment of 58,1400 from SBI Chandel further, ADC Chandel Chairman Lhukhosei Zou today clarified that the withdrawn amount was for various developmental works such as infrastructure for schools, Awareness Programmes/Workshops, purchase of computers for schools, construction of Community Hall, gallery and Retaining walls which are being departmentally implemented with the department concerned as the work agency.

The said works under Bonus fund of 13th Finance Commission Award are duly approved by the Govt.and there has been no diversion of works as alleged, the Chairman asserted in a statement said, while denying the allegations regarding one time release of fund.

The Chairman's statement noted that the fund was released as advance in order to enable immediate start of the work for early completion of the same so as to fulfil the prescribed schedule of time set by the Government.

Stating that the first progress of work is to be submitted by May 25 and the second report by June 20 while the completion report is to be submitted by July 15 this year, the statement further disclosed that the inauguration is to be held by the end of July.

It also claimed that the works are being executed in full swing as per Guidelines of the Government and the works once completed will certainly prove to be praiseworthy achievements of ADC, Chandel and they will remain memorable and tangible assets of the district.

The statement further said that if the BJP Chandel Unit needs detail information on the matters, they are free to personally approach the Chairman or CEO of Chandel ADC for clearance of the misunderstandings instead of hurling wild and baseless allegations.
