The four day long TIPS's photo exhibition "Mamigi Khonjel (voice of image)" held at Mayang Imphal Maibam Konjil in association with Maibam
Konjil Social Progressive Organization, Mayang Imphalwith the theme "Right to life" commenced from February 23 last concluded today with a
convention aimed at to aware the people on violation of rights of the people in the state since long.
The concluding function cum one day
convention discussed on the trend of human right violation in the state was attended by assistant director, sports department, Manipur
University Dr T Inaobi as chief guest, TIPS president Ashalam Khan (advocate) and MKSPO, president W Shyamjai as joint president of the
function.
MEELAL president Ng Yumjao and TIPS Legal consultant, Angomcha Aramba also attended the function as guest of honours.
The photo
exhibition cum one day convention was part of the awareness campaign on the long existing trend of violation of rights to life in the state
which TIPS has been conducting in different parts of the state, said general secretary, TIPS, Asemcha Tondon.
The legal consultant of TIPS,
Aramba said even though the article 19 (1)A of the Indian Constitution gives the freedom of expression to its citizens, the restriction given
in the (2) of the same article has indicated that it was meaningless one.
The clause shut the mouth of the media against the government.
In
the country, not only the freedom of speech and propaganda, others like the civil and political rights, cultural and economic rights are
continuously violating.
Citing the that underAFSPA, 1958, atrocities are carrying out in the state by the state actors, he urged the people
to respect and support Sharmila's striggle.
MEELAL president also observed people should be aware of the fact to the ongoing trend of
violation of rights to life in the state so that they can protest themselves.
The gathering on the occasion also observed a one-minute
silent as a mark of respect to the departed souls of the SDO, Dr Kishan and his co-staffs.
