Imphal, November 17 2010:
A 25-year old leishabi fainted when a bomb hurled at the house of the younger brother of CPI MLA, N Mangi exploded tonight around 7 pm at Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai under Lamphel police station.
The miscreants who triggered the bomb escaped leaving behind the scooter they came with when locals chased them, reports said.
Police later seized the NV brand scooter (MN-06S-1889) .
They triggered the bomb at the house of Ningthoujam Inakhunba, younger brother of sitting CPI MLA N Mangi of Kumbi around 7 pm.
This was the second attack on his house.
A failed attack was carried out on October 26 .
The bomb exploded on the roof of the house.
Langlen (25) daughter of Inakhunba who happened to be in the house fainted on the impact of the blast.
No casualty to other family members were reported except damages to the roof and the walls of the house.
The family who vacated the house after the October 26 failed bomb attack had returned recently.
The earlier bomb attack was carried outby suspected KCP (Khaba Meetei) group in connection with a monetary demand on Inakhunba.
But police as well as family could not confirm whether today's attack was related with the same group.
Alarmed by the loud blast, local residents turned out on the streets and chased the attackers but they escaped after abandoning the scooter they had come on.
The scooter had hit the median on Tiddim road.
Police at the Kwakeithel outpost who came out after hearing the blast intercepted the scooter which was left behind by the attackers, reports said.
