Jayalalithaa to be sworn in as CM of Tamil Nadu on Monday

AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa on Sunday met Tamil Nadu governor Surjit Singh Barnala to stake her claim to form the government in the state for a third time.
She will be sworn in as chief minister on Monday afternoon.
The swearing-in will be held at Madras University's Centenary Hall here.
Talking to reporters, Jayalalithaa said: "There are several challenges before the new government.
We have to put the economy back on rails, take Tamil Nadu on the path of prosperity and growth.
The focus is to bring down the prices, end power cuts and improve law and order" .
Jayalaithaa was on Sunday elected leader of the AIADMK legislature party.
She was elected by 146 newly elected MLAs of the party at a meeting held at the AIADMK headquarters here on Sunday morning.
According to sources in the party, AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa has invited Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and a national representative of the CPI to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
