As part of the consistent efforts of the Army to reach out to the people of Manipur, Major General Shakti Gurung, VSM, GOC 57 Mountain Division has distributed three computer sets each to two villages and two local clubs around Leimakhong under the Military Civic Action programme (Ops Sadbhavana) of the Red Shield Division today.
The distribution function held at Ebenezer village was attended by the GOC 57 Mountain Division as the chief guest.
The GOC distributed three computer sets, worth Rs 4 lakh, each to two villages and two local clubs.
The two villages which got the computer sets were Khunkho Kuki and L Phaikot while the two local clubs are Gurkha Youth Centre, Leimakhong and Electrical Power House Colony, Leimakhong.
The GOC also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a community hall at Ebenezer village to be constructed at the cost of Rs 1.30 lakh.
Major General Shakti Gurung also presented a set of musical instruments to artistes of Nepali Writers' Forum, Sanskrit Vibhan, Kanglatombi on the occasion.
The set of musical instruments includes a guitar, tabla, harmonium, keyboard, amplifier, microphone and speakers.
