Handloom exhibition

With a view to identify handloom products which would find ready markets outside the State, an exhibition of handloom products of Manipur was opened today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
The exhibition is being organised by the Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicraft Artisans Cooperative Society Limited in cooperation with the Directorate of Commerce and Industries.

The opening function of the exhibition was attended by DIC Imphal East General Manager Th Arunkumar as chief guest.
Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicraft Artisans Cooperative Society Limited president M Satyabhama as president and National Awardee M Radhamani as guest of honour.
Speaking at the opening function of the Export Oriented Handloom Fabric Exhibition Th Arunkumar said that the exhibition is being organised to identify handloom products of the State which would be popular and can be exported outside the State.
Mizo caps made by handicraft artisans of the State are very popular outside the State by the local artisans are unable to meet the demand.
Failure to meet demands often turns out to be curtailing future prospects of the same business.
He exhorted the artisans as well as weavers to produce quality products in abundance so that demands made from outside the State are met without fail.
