Though they expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction of the High Court complex near Sangakpham Bazar, the High Court Bar Association today said that they will press the state as well as the concerned Union ministry to speed up the work.
A meeting of the HCBAM was held today and reviewed the progress of the work, being taken up in full-swing to meet the targeted period, June, 2011 .
In the meeting, the association resolved to furnish representations to the Union Law Minister and state Chief Minister to speed up the work so as to ensure completion within the targeted period.
Speaking to reporters, president HCBAM, Kumarjit said that they were satisfied with the progress of the work relating to construction of the chamber of the Chief Justice and six court rooms including court room no.1 .
He informed that to fulfill the long cherished dream of having a separate High Court for the state much will depend on the completion of the complex.
If the work is delayed, Tripura and Meghalaya are likely to have their separate HCs before Manipur.
They wish to avoid this.
Therefore, they have decided to press the Chief Minister and the Union Law Minister to intervene for the early completion of the construction of the complex.
