AMWJU lifts boycott temporarily

Imphal, February 17 2011:
The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has relaxed boycotting of Chief Minister, his council of ministers, MLAs of ruling parties MPCC and CPI of SPF government, home department, police department's achievements temporarily, till February 25 next.
AMWJU called the boycott challenging charges level against its vice-president cum spokesperson, A Mobi, the editor of Sanaleibak daily, by the police while arresting him from near his office.
An emergency general body meeting of the AMWJU called today decided to lift the boycott till February 25 after thoroughly discussed assurance given by the Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh regarding the return of the FIR case registered against A Mobi.
Earlier, in the meeting with representatives of AMWJU, Chief Minister gave an assurance that government will return the FIR against Mobi as soon as possible and appealed to the scribes to lift the boycott call.
A statement of the AMWJU said that if the Chief Minister fails to return the FIR during the boycott relaxation period, the same stir will resume from next day.
