Ch Sanjit and young housewife Th Rabina, killed by the police commandos in alleged broad daylight alleged "fake encounter" on July 23, were remembered today on completion of three month their deaths.
A public meeting held at the house of slain Ch Sanjit has reaffirmed to continue the agitations till O Ibobi is ousted from the post of chief minister and exemplary punishment to the police commando personnel involved in the July 23 shooting incident among other demands.
Other demands included to stop conferring gallantry award to the police personnel killing innocent civilians, uprooting of AFSPA from the state.
There will be no let up in the ongoing agitations of the Apunba Lup, JACs and three students' bodies till the demands are fulfilled, the meeting reaffirmed.
Earlier, hundreds of people including families of Sanjit and Rabina, their relatives converged at the place at BT road near Khwairamband Bazar where they were shot dead and offered floral tributes to their photographs.
The offering of floral tributes was performed under strict police protection.
No untoward incident occurred during the floral tributes.
Later, people gathered at the house of deceased Ch Sanjit at Khurai Tinsid where a public meeting was convened under the joint initiatives of the two JACs formed in connection with the killing of Ch Sanjit and Th Rabina.
The meeting reaffirmed to continue agitation of the people till the demands are fulfilled stating that the decision to oust Ibobi from the post of chief minister was taken to safe the state from turning into "killing field".
Speakers alleged that during the regime of the Ibobi as chief minister, largest number of civilians was killed in "fake encounter" in the same of countering with the insurgents.
Police commandos and security forces were sent out in free hand to kill people in whatever the manner they like.
They also condemned all the 60 MLAs of Manipur for "misleading" the people by remaining silent even when the chief minister gave "false" statement in the house of the state Assembly.
All the legislatures have been bought by the chief minister.
They could not say any word against the chief minister because Ibobi has lured them with money, speakers alleged.
They also appealed to all concerns not to give any hindrance in the agitations of the Apunba Lup, JACs and students' bodies with apparent instigation from the government.
