Memoranda were submitted to the President of India during her visit in the state by various organisations apart from raising various issues before the people of the state, particularly by the women based bodies.
Among others, the Council of Tribal Languages and Literature Societies, Manipur has submitted a memorandum highlighting the crises faced by the tribal language groups in Manipur.
In the memorandum, the council alleged constitutional failure by non-implementing of constitutional safeguards for minority languages in the state, state apathy of tribal languages in the state since the inception etc.
and urged for Centre's intervention with a strong hand of enforcement from the Centre.
RK Noyonsana, chairperson of Manipur State Social Welfare board also raised up various issues before the women of the state while she had audience with the President.
She raised the issues of Irom Sharmila and urged her for sparing some of her administrative wisdom to look into the matter and bring a solution to the issue among others.
