Effigies of the chief minister, DGP and police commando personnel were burnt down by the volunteers of the Students Welfare Committee at Thongju Pheija Leitong today even as many civil organizations have pressed resignation of the chief minister, O Ibobi on moral ground for making a lair statement in the House of the state Assembly.
Volunteers of the SWC burnt the effigies of the CM, DGP and police commando personnel stating that in the state many people have been killed in fake encounter has been clearly exposure made by Tahelka newsmagazine on the July 23 firing incident.
Volunteer participating in the effigies burning event appealed to all concern to stop killing people in fake encounter as now the truth has been exposed.
Separate hand outs of various civil bodies while expressing that the statement given by the chief minister in the House of the state Assembly on the day of occurring the July 23 firing incident are demanding resignation of the chief minister on moral ground for misleading the people most importantly members of the state Assembly.
A statement of the Ethno Heritage Council while demanding the resignation of the chief minister also condemned the role of the opposition members of the house stating that the role taken by them on the incident was not that to be taken as opposition members of the house.All India Youth Federation (AIYF), All Manipur Shops and Establishment Employees Association, All India Students' Federaiton (AISF) also while expressing strong demanded resignation of the chief minister and judicial probe into the incident and take up appropriate action to prevent repetition of the incident in future.
