Nine die in separate accidents during Yaoshang festival

Atleast nine people died in different motor-vehicle accidents that occurred at different parts of the state during the Yaoshang festival concluded yesterday.
Three youths died and eight others injured when the DI-tata in which they are travelling together met with an accident at a place between Thinungei and Phubala in Bishnupur district last night around 10.30 pm.
The injured youths have been admitted at Bishnupur district hospital and RIMS hospital, report said.
The 11 youths are going for Thabal Chongba and the deceased were identified as Laishram Gandharaj (18) son of Jateshwor, Chanam Ranbir @ Tomba (29) son of Bohol and Irom Suresh @ Thoinou (18) son of Sabal.
All were residents of Thinungei Mayai Leikai and the vehicle was driven by Thokchom Bamkim of the same locality with the deceases.
The vehicle met the accident while heading towards Phubala after attending a Thabal Chongba at Toubul, report said.
A youth, who was struggling for life after he sustained serious injury after the motorcycle (Pulsar) he was riding collided with a bus (MN01-1891) last night at Lamjao along the Mayai Lambi has died today around 2.15 pm.
The accident occurred last night around 11.30 pm and he was brought up at RIMS hospital for medical treatment.
Yet another youth who also sustained serious injury in an accident occurred on the night of March 21 and struggling for life at RIMS hospital.
Tokpam Raju (27) son of Manibabu of Sangaiporou met with the accident when the motorcycle he was riding was knocked down by a Tata Magic at Ghari along the Tidim road around 11 pm of March 21.He received a severe fracture in his right leg.
On the same day, three persons including a driver of the North Eastern Frontier Railway were killed in different accidents at separate places.
The driver, Guman Singh (40) son of Shersingh from Rajasthan died when the tractor he was driving rolled down into the gorge.
Others who died at separate accidents on the same day were Shamukcham Sobha (42) son of Sh Kouba of Kongba Laishram Leikai and Heikrujam Janeshwor (35) son of Irabot of Nepra Manjor Company.
Jenshwor died yesterday.
A 30-year old man, Moirangthem Dhanajit (30) son of late Tombi of Ningthoukhong Bazar, who sustained injury at an accident occurred near the Bishnupur toll tax gate, is currently treating at Bishnupur hospital.
Over 10 persons also sustained injuries different accident occurred during the five day Yaoshang festival, according to police reports.
