Man beaten up by Traffic Police

A man has been hospitalised at RIMS after he was allegedly beaten black and blue by four traffic policemen attached to Churachandpur District Police today.
The victim has been identified as Kumam Rajbala (43), s/o K Sanahal of Moirang Turenband.
He sustained severe injuries on his back, belly, arms and knees.
According to the victim, the incident happened around 4 pm when he along with another person Abir Mohammed went to deliver eggs to some shops in Churachandpur in a Tata DI.
Abir was the driver and he had simply accompanied him.

While Abir was away to deliver the eggs in some shops, a traffic policeman came to him and asked for registration paper of the Tata DI.
The policeman then suddenly snatched the key of the vehicle to which he raised objection.
The policeman went on to beat him and dragged him up to the Police Station where he was assaulted by three more policemen.
He was released after they took his signature along with Abir's on a blank paper, Rajbala said.
The victim condemned the brutal act of the police and appealed to the authorities concerned to take action against the erring policemen.
