Imphal, November 12 2009:
The directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur will observe the National Press Day on November 16 and organise a one day seminar on "The Changing Face of Indian Media" on the occasion at 10.45 am at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul here.
Minister of Information and Public Relations (IPR), Tourism and PHED, TN Haokip, Commissioner (IPR), P Bharat, IAS and president of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU), S Hemanta will be the chief guest, the president and the guest of honour respectively at the observance function.
Deputy Director/Consultant, Regional News Unit, All India Radio, Imphal, BB Sharma will be the moderator at the one day seminar.
Three resource persons will speak on different topics at the seminar.
Senior Public Relations Officer (PRO), Manipur University, M Sharatchandra will speak on the topic "Changing trend of the press".
Editor of Ireibak, Irengbam Arun will speak on "Status of media in Manipur" .
Editor of Hueiyen Lanpao (English edition), Brozendra Ningomba will speak on "The role of media in the path of integration and communal harmony" .
