Imphal, June 09 2009:
The Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM) has hailed the Works Minister K Ranjit for his efforts to develop the hill areas with a commitment to bridge the wide difference between the hill and the valley.
The Publicity Secretary of ICHAM, Ambition stated that ICHAM feels that if all the ministers and MLAs follow the footsteps of some 2/3 Ministers of the SPF including the Works Minister, then there will be no disparity in the hill and the valley.
It also wanted the Chief Minister to give strict instruction to them in wiping out the disparities.
Besides, if the SPF government pays adequate attention to various resources available in the state, the state will surely be self sufficient, it argued.
The things that ICHAM came across in interior areas of the state during the last two years indicate that there were no elected leaders in those areas, the statement observed.
It also appeals the government to improve the educations system, road communication, and to revive the MSRTC and acquire 60 buses to improve the transport system of the hill areas.
