The All Manipur Government Drivers' and Technicians' Association has resolved that all government drivers shall not report for duty to stage a one day steering down strike and sit-in-protest on March 19 in protest against the killing of three Government employees including a driver, according to a representation submitted to the Chief Minister of Manipur by the AMGDTA today.
The representation of the AMGDTA signed by its general secretary, S Ibopishak also demanded the NSCN (IM) to hand over the guilty cadres in the killing of SDO, Dr Thingnam Kishan, Y Token and driver, A Rajen Sharma to the Manipur government for trial and punishment.
It further demanded the ex-gratia amount of Revenue Mandal, Y Token and Driver, A Rajen should be at par with the ex-gratia amount of SDO, Dr Thingnam Kishan.
It also demanded judicial inquiry over the death of two IFCD drivers and to compensate the deceased families.
