Popular Singer Luklakpam Jayenta, popularly known as Tapta was assaulted by the organisers of a musical concert at Keinou in Bishnupur district for coming late on
March 27 .
Expressing concern over the attitude of the organisers, Jayenta today said that he has no more desire to perform any concert which he considers as a platform to expose the ugly face of the society and clean it through songs.
The incident occurred on the evening of March 27 when Jayenta was about to perform at a musical concert organised by the Lainingthou Lam Ahingba Thougal Lup, Keinou Thongkha.
When the concert was about to start, due to rains, the crowd dispersed.
Alleging that the people dispersed because of his late arrival, he was beaten by the organizers.
Apart from this, he was forced to pay a fine of Rs 5000 by the organizers.
On that very day, Jayenta did not take food and has been lying at the bed.
His wife, Premita also under the same condition.
Regarding the incident, Jayenta said that even though the concert was scheduled to start from 5 pm, he reached the place by 4 pm.
As some of the musicians of the ANASEL band group are hailing from far off places did not arrived till 6 pm.
At the same time, the fitting of the mike by the sound organizers also started after 6 pm.
But the commencement of the concert delayed due to a prize distribution function which was followed by rain shower, he recounted.
It is not the first of its kinds to start a programme delay from the scheduled timing, Jayenta said adding that he had experienced so many concert commenced delay since he work in the field since 1996.But he never experienced such wildly attitudes of the organizers.
The incident has compelled a man's objective to bring a change in the society through singing songs which futures the ugly, malpractices in the society, Jayenta complaint.
