Kakching, June 30 2014:
The 48-hr bandh called by the Joint Action Committee against the killing Heitlungshel Khaling alias KH Maring of Nungourok Village affected normal life in Chandel District today.
A large numbers of bandh supporters belonging to different communities blocked the Imphal - Moreh section of National Highway No.102 at Nungourok Village and Laimanai Chingjin since early morning.
As a result, vehicular traffic along this section of National Highway came to a standstill.
However, emergency and essential services like media, vehicles carrying patients, religious related programmes were exempted from the purview of the bandh.
