MLA of Kshetrigaon A/C Th Nandakishore has appealed for a negotiated settlement of the present imbroglio over the cease work strike of the Government employees and the economic blockade along the National Highways in the interest of the people who are already hard pressed.
Talking to mediapersons at his Kongpal Chanam Leikai residence today, MLA Nandakishore pointed out that the prolonged cease work strike of the Government employees over the demand for implementation of the Central 6th Pay Commission in totality has not only paralysed the functioning of the Government but also created lot of inconveniences to the people and the problem of the people has been further compounded as a result of the economic blockade imposed along the two National Highways passing through the State over the demand for recitification of the Autonomous District Council Act.
It is high time for the Government and the other authorities concerned to bring about a amicable solution to resolve the matter in the interest of the people, he said.
The MLA also suggested that Imphal-Jiribam Road should be developed as the second lifeline of the State in view of frequent agitation along National Highway 39 .
The FCI godown of the State at Dimapur should also be shifted to Silchar, he proposed while drawing the attention of the Government to the matter.
