Dr Kishan, his two staff remembered

Imphal, February 17 2011:
The 2nd death anniversary of Dr Thingnam Kishan, the then Kasom Khullen SDO, his subordinate staff, Token and Rajen killed by NSCN (IM) cadres after abduction were remembered today on their second death anniversary.
Offering of floral tributes at Gandhi Ghat, Uripok devotional songs sung by the artistes and recitation of poems by 10 poets marked the beginning of the function.
H Nandakumar, the vice-chancellor of Manipur University graced as chief guest the formal function that followed.
Noted film maker and padmashree awardee, Aribam Shyam Sharma attended as guest of honour of the function presided by S Tikendrajit, chairman of the JAC formed against the brutal murder the SDO and his two subordinate staff.
In his speech as chief guest,Prof Nandakumar said that Kishan and his two staff had fallen into the jaw of death for the sake of truth.
They had taught a lesson to the generation, he added.
Aribam Shyam said that among the incidents occurring in the human civilization, only those who fought for the truth bravely were remembered.
Among them the sacrificed made by Kishan and his two staff can be mentionable.
They stood for truth till their last, he added.
On the occasion, advocate Khaidem Mani put down a brief note on the case in the court with regard to the murder of the trio.
A book entitled "Golden Flower and Other Poems" published by Dr Kishan Foundaiton was released.
