Imphal, May 16 2009:
Four persons (two police commando personnel and two informers) who are allegedly involved in the abduction and hand over of Kh Megha after picked up from Khagempali on May 6 last have been remanded further today by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal apart from issuing orders of detention of them under NSA by the Imphal west district magistrate.
The two police commandos who have been taken into police custody for allegedly involved in the abduction of Megha and hand over to troops of the 31 Assam Rifles were Jilkhothang Toudang (rifleman no.08200019) son of Doukhomang Toudang of Yaingangpokpi presently residing at quarter no.D9 of the Langol Game village and Thangoukhang Langel (constable no.0015033) son of late Piyangthang of New Lamka Dorkham Veng of Churachandpur.
While the two other persons said to be informers colluding with the two personnel in the abduction of Megha were Leithangbam Sanathoi (30) son of Iboyaima of Kakwa Oinam Leikai and Sorensangbam Shantikumar son Nilo of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.
The later two were arrested by the police after registering an FIR case under section 365/342/511/120-B of IPC and section 25 (1-B) of the Singjamei police station.
The four arrested persons have been in the custody of the police investigating into the case of abduction of Megha from Khagempali area who was later hand over to the police by the Assam Rifles with the claim of rounding up from Moreh as PLA cadre till today.
Today, they were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal and further remanded to judicial custody till May 30.They were produced in the court by the Imphal west police with a prayer for further remand.
In the court police mention that till police is yet to complete investigation into the case on how Megha abducted from Khagemapati area of Imphal by the two police commandos of the Imphal east was produced by the Assam Rifles with the claim of rounding up from Moreh as PLA cadre.
