In total contrast to the believe of the people to rectify the corrupted society, the activities of the revolutionary groups are turning towards demanding money from the people and firing guns and exploding bombs to the house of those who do not meet the demands, said MLA E Kunjeshwor.
The MLA while speaking as chief guest at the "9th Maichou Ningsing Thouram" held at GM Hall organized by the Culture Preservation Centre, Manipur today said that the then peaceful Manipur society has now converted into a killing field with everyday killing and it has kept the society in an awful state by the emergence of "Interest group".
In order to save the society from deteriorating further, a government which could solve the existing problems is a must, he said while appealing the people to cast votes in favour of those candidates who can effort money at the time of election.
He also observed that due to the vanishing of the rich traditional cultures, elocutions and disciplines, there arises disbelieved among the people of different communities once residing together in harmony.
The demands of separate homelands by different communities appearing today are the outcomes of the lessening disbelieve among the people.
Today's function was also attended by additional director of education (s) S Geeta as guest of honour and presided by chief advisor of the Cultural Preservation Centre, L Mangisana.
Three male maichou namely Thokchom Ningthemjao (90) of Kha Potshangbam, Kamei Haoreilung (90) of Keishamthong Kabui Khul and Phoumang Kuki (90) of Khongakhun, Senapati district and three female maichou Oinam Tonsana (112) of Yairipok, Pishaksana Kabui of Keishamthong and Hatjalam Chnogloi of Old Lambulane were also honoured with cheisu (supporting sticks) as gifts.
