Lamka, March 29 2010:
A rainstorm that broke the dry-spell which was responsible for razing almost half a dozen houses since January ravaged another set of residents as it flattened around 10 buildings to ground.
The rainstorm that hit the State on Easter was felt mostly in the district by the localities adjacent to this township on the south with a newly erected Church and a Government Junior High School bearing the brunt.
Of the four residential houses destroyed at New Lamka, one Suanlianmang and his family were preparing to move themselves in their new home when the tragedy struck.
Two residential houses were partially destroyed while one was completely blown-off at Sehken village.

An MPCS church building at Lingsiphai was left only with the chair and pulpit as the wind flattened the walls and dumped the roof to an open space nearby while the Government Junior High School at Saipum shared similar fate.
Tamenglong: As in many other parts of the State, hailstorm that swept across the State left a destructive trail at Kaiphundai village too.
According to chairman of Kaiphundai Village Authority Isaac Gangmei, the forceful storm uprooted one community hall, one youth club office, one school building, one shop and two houses.
It is also reported that barracks and tents of Kaimai and Nungba posts of 172 Bn CRPF were also blown away by the gale.
