Imphal, August 23 2009:
Floral tribute offering ceremony of Sanjit and Rabina killed exactly a month back in a reported fake encounter at Khwairamband Bazar was held this morning at 9.45 at the residence of Sanjit at Khurai Sajor Leikai to mark the completion of a month of their death.
A statement issued by the JAC informed that the mourners have also observed two minutes silence apart from offering floral tribute to the portraits of Rabina and Sanjit.
A mass rally was also carried out from Khurai till Lamlong.

The ceremony was attended by noted social worker Iboyaima, various Meira Paibee leaders and locals.
Meanwhile, floral tribute was also paid to Rabina at her residence at Lamshang and at Khwairamband Bazar, where she met her end.
Lamenting that Manipur seems to be a leaderless land, the assumed leaderships of the state have caused immense worries to the people.
It noted that they have killed innocent people on daily basis in the name of counter insurgency without thinking for the welfare of the people.
Even as the Centre has sanctioned crore of rupees for the state, there is nothing to celebrate for the people as the amounts will go to the pockets of the ministers right from the CM to the MLAs.
It sarcastically asked how much of the amounts would be paid as ex-gratia for killing innocent people.
The statement held the Chief Minister, who is also in-charge of Home, responsible for the presence of many rogues in the security forces who have linked with undergrounds and worked at the behest of the undergrounds.
It observed that such rogues are the outcome of the practice of corruption, favouritism and nepotism while conducting recruitment.
Stating that the findings of the judicial inquiry in the case of the killing of Manoram against three personnel Riflemen T Lotha and Ajit Singh, and Havildar Kumar) have been concealed from public knowledge, the JAC statement totally rejected the conduct of judicial inquiry.
It stated that the government is posing an open challenge to the people by instituting magisterial inquiry into the killing of Sanjit and Rabina, it also demanded the immediate ending of the magisterial inquiry.
The JAC statement also registered strong condemnation over the act of taking an 11 year old Bidyarani into custody.
The statement further appeals the people to pay more attention to the burning issue of the state and to deflect from the ministers' and MLAs' programmes of distributing materials like pump sets, etc at several localities.
