To facilitate the construction of a High Court and Civil Secretariat as part of the proposed Capitol Project at Mantripukhri area, the Leprosy Hospital at Lei-Ingkhol is likely to be shifted either to Lamlai or Sawombung and the offices of the Agriculture Department located in and around Mantripukhri to State Mechanised Farm at Lamphel and to Porompat.
According to an official source, a high level meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair was held at his office chamber today to this discuss these matters.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed all the officials concerned and Ministers to expedite the process of shifting the offices as well as the Leprosy Hospital to a favourable location so that the construction of the High Court and the Civil Secretariat can be started.
As per the instruction given by the Chief Minister, the Leprosy Hospital at Lei-Ingkhol which is under the Health Department is likely to be shifted either to Lamlai or Sawombung, the source said, adding that the Health Department is looking into this aspect and a final decision will be taken very soon.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also instructed the officials concerned to finalise the architectural design of the proposed Capital project and get the necessary environmental clearance.
Works Minister Th Debendra, Health Minister L Nandakumar, Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh, Principal Secretary (Health) V Chhiber, Principal Secretary (Works) AE Ahmed and Commissioner (GAD) AR Khan were among the officials and Ministers at the meeting.
Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons at his office chamber Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat informed that all the offices of the Agriculture Department located in Mantripukhri area would be shifted to State Mechanised Farm at Lamphel as well as at Porompat within the month of June.
