Kothajit gets due recognition; Govt awards him Rs 20 lakh

Imphal, August 27 2012:
Kh Kothajit Singh, a member of Indian Hockey contingent as a reserve player in the recently concluded London Olympics, 2012 was given a cash incentive award of Rs.20 lakh by the State Government today.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who also holds the additional portfolio of Youth Affairs & Sports, presented a cheque of Rs 20 lakhs to Kh.
Kothajit Singh in a simple function held at his office chamber in Chief Minister's Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government had to accord Olympian status to the hockey player from the State Kh.
Kothajit since he qualified for the Indian Hockey team for London Olympics.

He expressed his unhappiness over exclusion of Kothajit in the recent reception ceremony of the London Olympians from the state.
