Bomb attacks at civilian areas by unidentified armed persons continue unabated as two similar incidents were reported in the last 24 hours.
The first incident took place at the residence of one Meitram Kesho (50) at Taothong Apheiba under Lamsang police station at about 11.30 last night.
Out of two hand grenades hurled at the residence of Kesho, one exploded at the roof of the house causing some damages to the upper portion of the house.
The other grenade which landed in front of the verandah failed to go off.
Yesterday's attack was the fifth in a series of similar attacks at the residence of Kesho during the current year.
Kesho is a sub-contractor by profession.
On the other hand, a bomb was found at the Keishampat Thiyam Leikai residence of one Salam Biren (65) at around 6.30 this evening.
The bomb has been retrieved by explosive experts of Manipur Police.
Salam Biren, who is a retired EE of PWD, Electrical Circle, said that he had no idea who and why the bomb was placed at his residence.
He said that there was no case of any demand from anyone.
Biren also appealed to all concerned to explain as to why the bomb was placed at his residence.
