Police have arrested 12 persons in connection with shut down of network marketing firm, Jainex International Trade (JIT) after many people invested crores of rupees in the hope of earning easy money.
According to police report, among the arrested, one is a woman and all 12 of them charged with collecting huge amount of money from their downline clients.
The police, however, declined to reveal the identity of the arrested persons.
To facilitate further interrogation, all 12 of them have been remanded to police custody till October 27 after being produced before a magistrate today.
It may be noted here that the website of China-based JIT, which was introduced in Manipur only last month, has not been able accessed through internet since Oct 14 .
On the following day, a large number of clients stormed at the house of one Huidrom Nandakumar, who reportedly introduced the network business in the State.
